    Maria Amapola Cabase (born November 3, 1948) is a Filipino singer, actress, musician, TV, and radio host. She is widely known in the Philippines for her vocal and instrumental performances and for winning the Filipino Awit Award for Best Vocal Performance. Philippines' First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos called Amapola "Music Ambassador" in 1973. Amapola hosted the "Amapola Presents Show" in San Francisco from 1977 to 1981. In 1984 she released her international debut album produced in collaboration with Jazz pianist Bobby Enriquez, who led the Cal Tjader Trio for Amapola's debut Jazz album, Sophisticated Lady. In the Philippines, she is known as "Amapola". Amapola's music career began when she sang the love theme "Guihigugma Ko Ikaw" for the Azucena Pictures film Utlanan. Amapola's song "Kapantay Ay Langit" was a Top 40 hit in the Philippines, and the recording won Amapola the Manila Film Festival song of the year award. Amapola was awarded the key to Cebu City by then Governor [Manuel Cuenco] to celebrate her work, making her the youngest person ever to receive the honor. His hit songs as a solo artist include How Can I Fall, The Past, The Search is Over, and Love Always Finds a Way. Jed made waves during the 2005 World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood, California when he single-handedly won all major industry awards.He bested over 3,000 contestants from 52 countries to win the grand prize. There were six categories whereby Jed won the golds. Fernandez began her music career at age 16 when she signed a contract with OctoArts Records in 1981. In 1982, Fernandez released her first album and co-hosted the Philippine television series Penthouse Live! with Martin Nievera. She became a popular celebrity in the Philippines.
