is a fictional character from the Square-Enix role-playing video game Final Fantasy X. He is best known as Tidus' father, as well as for being a major blitzball star in his hometown of Zanarkand. Jecht is tall, muscular, surly and has a tendency to drink. Jecht has a powerful blitzball move called the "Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark III," in which he kicks the ball into one opponent, it rebounds, hits another opponent, rebounds again and is then kicked into the goal by him. In actuality, Jecht is not from Zanarkand. Rather, he is from a magically-summoned replica of the city, created from the memories of those who lived in the original and maintained by Yu Yevon, the summoner who was the leader of Zanarkand a thousand years before the events of Final Fantasy X. At that time, there had been a war between Zanarkand and the city of Bevelle, a war which Zanarkand could not hope to win. As a result, Yu Yevon (then called only "Yevon") sought to preserve his city's memory, even if he could not save the original. Thus, he had his city's surviving people become fayth on nearby Mt. Gagazet, and he then used their memories of Zanarkand to create a new city in its image, far

Ultimecia ( ̄ツᄁ ̄テᆱ ̄テニ ̄ツᆪ ̄テ゚ ̄ツᄋ ̄ツᄁ Arutimishia) is the main antagonist in Squaresoft's role playing game Final Fantasy VIII. She is also the subject of an age-old debate between Final Fantasy fans, as she is one of the unexplained elements of Final Fantasy VIII. A sorceress from the future, Ultimecia is a being of extreme evil -- though not insane as often assumed. She is capable of reaching back through time via a special machine in order to possess other sorceresses and manipulate them. Fully aware of her predestined fate, she desires to conquer it through bringing about the phenomenon of "Time Compression", by which all times would merge and she could absorb the power of all the sorceresses, becoming "a living god", incapable of dying. Ironically, history is ultimately immutable in Final Fantasy VIII and it is through her desire to alter the past and cheat her fate that she fufills the terms of her destiny ¬タヤ defeat at the hands of Squall Leonhart and his comrades ¬タヤ and perpetuates the cycle that will lead to the formation of SeeD, an example of the predestination paradox. There are a number of points in the game that show that Ultimecia, as a being from the future, is

Sephiroth (セフィロス, Sefirosu) is a fictional character in the role-playing video game Final Fantasy VII developed by Square (now Square Enix), where he is the main antagonist. His Japanese voice actor is Toshiyuki Morikawa; in English, he was first voiced by Lance Bass in Kingdom Hearts and by George Newbern in all his subsequent appearances. In Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth is the result of an experiment by the megacorporation Shinra, in which they injected him with cells from the extraterrestrial lifeform Jenova when he was still a fetus. Upon discovering this, Sephiroth decides to follow what he believes to be his destiny, and become a god, taking control of the Planet, whilst Cloud and the game's other protagonists attempt to stop him. Sephiroth's role in the story, as well as his background, are expanded in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Additionally, he appears as a boss character in the Kingdom Hearts series, and other video games developed by

In order to avoid further strife amongst the Guado nation, Jyscal had his wife and son exiled to the island of Baaj. Afterwards, Seymour's mother ¬タヤ suffering from a terminal illness ¬タヤ gave her life in the Zanarkand Ruins to become the fayth of the aeon Anima, believing that only in sacrificing herself for Spira's temporary peace (known as "the Calm") against the malevolent creature Sin would her son be accepted by the people. Horrified, Seymour refused the aeon and returned to Baaj, where he dwelled alone for years, becoming increasingly morose and cynical. In time, he came to believe that death was the only freedom from the suffering of life, and that it
