The film stars Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala in the lead with Nasir Khan, Azra, Leela Chitnis, Kanhaiyalal, Anwar Hussain, Nasir Hussain, Helen forms an ensemble cast. Notable for its use of Bhojpuri dialect and its rustic setting, the film features real life brothers Dilip Kumar and Nasir Khan in the title role, is on the story of two brothers, Gunga and Jumna, the poignancy of two brothers on opposite sides of the law. After six months of delay, the film was finally released in January 1961. Upon release the film was well received by the critics and the audience.     Mughal-E-Azam (English: The Greatest of the Mughals) is a 1960 Indian period epic film directed by K. Asif and produced by Shapoorji Pallonji under the banner of Sterling Investment Corporation. A retelling of a popular Indian tale, the film featured Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Madhubala and Durga Khote in pivotal roles. Mughal-e-Azam loosely followed an episode in the life of the Mughal Prince Salim (who went on to become Emperor Jahangir), specifically his love for a court dancer Anarkali, which is disapproved of by his father, emperor Akbar, and envied upon by a superior dancer who wishes to be a queen. The focus is on tongawallahs who earn their living transporting people on tongas (horse carts). Their livelihood is threatened when the son of a rich landlord (Jeevan) begins operating a bus service in the town, which he subsidizes heavily with the sole intention of first driving the tongawallahs out of the town and then making profits.     Kanoon Apna Apna is a 1989 Hindi action-drama film starring Dilip Kumar and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The Collector of Anokhapur, Jagatpratap Singh (Dilip Kumar) urges on law and order. However his son Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) believes that sometimes illegal means should be adopted to bring control. This causes discomfort between father and son. Bhushannath 'Dharmendra' Bhadbhole (Kader Khan) is a corrupt Minister of Fisheries. His son Kailash (Gulshan Grover) and Kabza Kanhaiyalal (Anupam Kher) rape and kill Jagatpratap's maid-servant and also kill Ravi's friend. But they are acquitted because of a faked alibi. Ravi decides to put these criminals to punishment which they deserve. But his father's legalism causes problems to him and he decides to leave the home and fight. Ravi for this purpose becomes a police inspector. But this does not heal the father-son bond as he still has different rules of justice. On the statement that the law is for human beings but not for monsters, the father finally manages to join his son in his fight against the corrupt minister. The songs of the film are written by Indeevar and composed by Bappi Lahiri.

This film was the last to star veteran actor Dilip Kumar who retired after the release of this film. A cruel and evil landowner Jaganath Singh (Dilip Kumar) is murdered and his twin brother Amarnath Singh (also Dilip Kumar) decides to investigate. He finds the list of suspects is endless. The prime suspects are Jaganath's son Amar (Mukul Dev), Jaganath's abused wife Suman (Smita Jaykar) and a woman named Yamini (Rekha) who claims she was raped by Jaganath. Eventually Jaganath's son Amar confesses to killing his father. He reveals that on the night of his father's death he accidentally shot him while trying to fight him off when Jagannath held Amar and his mother at gunpoint. Soon after the list of suspects grow after it is discovered that Jaganath's had many more enemies who could have killed him including landowner Mangal Singh (Gulshan Grover) and even Jaganath's own brother Amarnath who doesn't seem to have got on well with Jaganath himself in the past.
